at sixteen i told myself by my mid-twenties i wanted to have a career and be married with two children. now, at twenty five, i'm just praying my card isn't declined at target.

Romantic Comedy Symphony

I wrote a romantic comedy symphony

The last note was the end to me.

I poured wine on this love ballad

My heart bled, my ego rattled.

The scream fell on broken ears

The strings told my deepest fears.

My pain drowned in flirting woodwinds

The violins turned hurting good friends.

I wonder if this music’s kin to me

Another heartbreak, another symphony.
